Bows

Medieval bows

The medieval bows I make are developed from the instruments represented in the miniatures of the codex B.j.2 e T.j.1, Cantigas de Santa María, by the king Affonso X.

They are made with european wood, and they never lose tension.

Length: 770mm; heigth: 50 e 60 gr. for the vyola bows and around 84 gr. for the large vyola.

Despite its primitive look. with these bows it is possible to play any renaissance or baroque piece; they are vey elastic, and they admit any kind of bow stroke.

A small frog can be added, if desire, held only by the pressure of the hairs.
